My lip scrub from yesterday may now make more sense since if I'm planning to wear lipstick, my lips need to be prepared! You can't paint something beautifully without a nice, clean canvas first. Also, I discovered yesterday that the lip scrub works well to help get lipstick off (for example, off your arm if you're doing a bunch of swatches).
As a fun intro, I decided to look through all my lipsticks and show them off. For someone who doesn't wear lipstick very often, I had a lot more than I realized. This is due in large part to the plethora of Clinique that Lilly has given me. While I have included all colored lip options in this post, for the purposes of the challenge, I have to use a lipstick or liner from the third and fourth sets as a base or it doesn't count. I can use a gloss or tinted lip balm on top, but the point is to make me wear something with a decent amount of pigment.
From left to right: Wet n Wild Diamond Brilliance (can't find a color), Wet n Wild Liquid Lip Color in Rose Gold, Clinique Full Potential Lips in 03 Glamourfull, Clinique Long Last Glosswear in 04 Sunset, in 10 Air Kiss, and Lancome Juicy Tubes in Sweetheart.
Unfortunately I couldn't get a great quality for the swatches, but hopefully you get the idea. The first Wet n Wild one is almost invisible, as you can see.
From left to right: Wet n Wild Natural Wear Lip Shimmer, Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in Rhubarb, C.O. Bigelow Tinted Lip Balm in Vintage Rouge Mint, Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Red Dahlia, and fresh Tinted Lip Treatment in Sugar Rose.
I actually haven't been wearing these a lot lately, but they used to be what I reached for on a daily basis since they're subtle but still add a little color. I was surprised at how much some of them popped on my arm, cause I don't feel like they show quite that much on my lips.
From left to right: Clinique Chubby Stick in 08 Graped-up, in 04 Mega Melon, Clinique Different Lipstick in 51 Think Bronze, in 62 Tenderheart, Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey, in Flirty Honey, Clinique Different Lipstick in A Different Grape, Revlon Lipstick in Teak Rose, and a tiny random sample that I have no idea where it's from or what it's called.
For the challenge, I aim to try and go with some of the more pigmented options. The point is to be adventurous and make myself feel special after all.
From top to bottom (and left to right on the swatch): Cover Girl Outlast Lipstain in 440 Wild Berry Wink, Maybelline Moisture Whip in 80 Cranberry, Wet n Wild Colorcon in 666 Brandy Wine, in 664C Fab Fuchsia.
To end a very long winded post in a very simple way: Let the lipstick challenge begin!
Air Kiss is my favorite lip gloss EVER.
ReplyDeleteIt's probably my favorite of all the ones I own, but I like all the Clinique ones and the Lancome one. I don't wear them enough to really know which is my favorite. :)
